Our Services

  • Crestpoints is a specialist consultancy engineering firm providing mechanical, electrical, refrigeration and water engineering services to the building services industry. We have extensive experience in providing consultative engineering services both as sub-consultants to architects and as principal consultants.

Crestpoints Consulting Engineers brings an unparalleled engineering approach to each project, combining functionality, innovation, and cost-effectiveness with every project completed by our office.

Crestpoints Consulting Engineers offers a comprehensive electrical engineering suite that is specifically designed to provide appropriate engineering solutions after detailed consultation with each owner and assessment of facility requirements.

Our scope of engineering services includes electrical field services coordination with the electrical utility, interior lighting design and photometric analysis, exterior lighting design (including site photometric planning for site plan approval), lighting controls, power distribution, fire alarm systems, emergency life safety systems, electric vehicle charging, and metering (multi-point digital third party or SB-10) requirements.

Our electrical systems are designed with careful consideration and consultation with each owner’s needs. This ensures that each system and associated design results in a value-engineered and functional solution that meets the owner, building requirements, and usage.

Our lighting designs include consultation on the latest lighting control technologies and design methods in collaboration with all relevant project team members, including interior designers, architects, and owners, to meet current energy standards (including LEED requirements, if applicable). These systems include advanced digital lighting controls with owner-defined sequences, functions and interfaces to critical building systems such as BAS and security.

In addition to the typical electrical engineering services our firm provides, our office excels in collaborating and coordinating with professional consultants on IT requirements, security systems, audio/visual systems, public address systems, nurse call systems, and more.

Construction Documents

A key area of expertise for our team is the preparation of construction documents for both new construction and renovation projects. Providing technical insights from the conceptual design phase, through to design development, to a detailed set of drawings and specifications describing the electrical services to be constructed within the building.

Drafting and Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Crestpoints offers services using both traditional 2D CAD software and 3D modeling. Crestpoints Consulting Engineers is committed to continually staying abreast of technological advancements within the industry to bring more value to our clients and remain competitive in the market.

In response to the industry’s shift from 2D drafting to 3D modeling, our office has developed the ability to work in a Building Information Modeling environment.

Our office uses Revit for all BIM projects and has completed numerous projects at the 300/350 development level. Our firm and team are continually expanding our extensive family library to enhance our capabilities in the BIM environment and the quality and accuracy of our models.

Our staff has gained extensive experience through internal training seminars, participation in international seminars, and guidance from external consultants. We believe that BIM ensures efficiency across the entire project team and helps ensure that each project is completed on time and on budget through interference modeling and weekly BIM coordination.

Engineering Consulting Reports

Our experienced consulting and professional engineers provide engineering reports to building owners. The content and depth of the reports vary based on client needs. Here are a few examples we provide on a regular basis:

Condition assessments and proposed solutions to specific problems. This may be the first step for a building owner to have engineering evaluate a problem, which may later translate into a project that requires construction documents.

Design Development Reports, often part of a building design project. This report briefly describes the proposed electrical system and allows stakeholders to provide input early in the process.

Energy Analysis Reports are used to study and evaluate the energy bills of existing buildings. Through analysis, the report can provide recommended energy retrofit upgrades and compare the expected energy consumption impact of such retrofits.

Energy Analysis of a Portfolio of Buildings, comparing the energy bills of a school board, developer, or other entity that operates a large number of similarly used facilities. This analysis is customized to the entity's business, using custom comparison parameters to provide insights related to its usage or revenue streams. The energy bills of the portfolio of buildings are then compared, providing valuable insights into the consumption of each building in relation to the others.

Third Party Reviews and Legal Verifications; services provided to attorneys, government agencies, or other engineering firms to assist in conflict resolution.Engineering Consulting Reports
